Bernard, I have run out of your books to read. It is a trajedy. I am going to run through “your questions” and read some of the authors you suggested. I have a hypothetical question for you. What if Custers command at the Little Big Horn was armed with .577-450 Martini Henry rifles instead of their .45-70 Trap door Springfields. Would his command have been wiped out if they had had the more reliable Martini-Henry? I keep thinking of the successful defense of Rorkes Drift by a couple of hundred Red Coated Tommy’s. Next question, Have you ever been to the Little Big Horn battlefield? Your impressions of the ground? Bob Long
