dear Sir, I have been reading your Starbuck series and I was wondering if Wellington’s peninsular army was equipped correctly for the time, would they have defeated the north in battle? I know the country can’t be completely conquered because of its size, but would he have been able to keep the South from being over run?

Also (sorry) when an officer was posted to staff, what hapened to his regiment/ battalion? so for example, Lt Doggart (I think) in S. Warterloo was from the gards, so what hapened to his Lt’cy? or who would command the regiment of Dutch cavlery, of which Sharpe was made Lt Col? thank you for your time once again, Chris G
