Dear Mr. Cornwell: I enjoy reading your novels very much. I especially like the richness of your characters and the breadth you give to your plots. Historical fiction is my favourite genre of literature and you write it so well. I’m twenty pages pages away from completing the “Nathaniel Starbuck Chronicles” and I have “The Warlord Chronicles” and “Redcoat” on my dresser. I’ve read “Stonehenge”, “Gallow’s Thief” and I spent the better part of my vacation this past July reading “The Grail Quest” novels. I may be unique among your readers, for I have yet to read a single Sharpe novel. I’ve seen the television films, I’ve stood by the volumes on the bookstore shelves and I’ve even had several of the books in my hands ready to purchase. Alas, I have a problem. I cannot decide whether to read the Sharpe stories in publishing order or in chronological order. Would you please recommend to me in which order I should read the Sharpe novels? I fear that since I’m reading your other works faster than you can write them that I can no longer avoid the decision. Thank you.
Kevin

Mr. Cornwell, I need a bit of help. I own just about all of your books and I just sarted reading the Sharpe series for the second time. My Problem? Which book when? I thought I would read them by the dates on the covers but this is obviously wrong. Starting with Sharpe’s Tiger in 1799 and then moving forward I had the distinct pleasure of reading about Sgt. Hakeswill’s death. I just started reading the “Rifles” books and who shows up? Sgt. Hakeswill. Could you give me a list or the location of one that I could put the rest of your fine books in order? Thanks Gil, Wakefield, Ma
