Dear Mr Cornwell I am sorry to say that I am a latecomer to the Sharpe stories but I have become hooked on them through the series presently being shown on BBC America. Although, unfortunately, I missed the first few movies I have made sure I never missed another one through the miracle of the VCR. I had two questions but my first one about Sharpe’s daughter with Terese (I hope I got her name right)and why he never mentions her any more has pretty well been answered in a previous question. Now – what happened to Patrick’s Ramona and their baby? When they defeated Napoleon the first time, Sharpe returned to England to find Jane and his money and Patrick returned to Ireland – but seemingly without Ramona (his wife) and their child. Then in Sharpes Waterloo he turns up again talking about his life in Ireland – and still no mention of Ramona. When Sharpe’s Challenge comes on this Saturday will Lucille now also be out of the picture? I am going to buy the Sharpe books now and catch up on everything that I have missed. Thank you. : Patricia Vanderhoof
Dear Mr. Cornwell, I am ashamed to say that I have not read any of your books. But I am off to the library with a long list after visting your website and viewing the Sharpe series on BBCAmerica. I love the Sharpe character and am excited to read some of your other works, based on what the readers have written here. I know that Hollywood often deviates from the original stories and that you probably can’t explain their reasons. In the televised series, Rowena and the child (Harper’s child) just seem to have disappeared. So my question is this, did I miss something? Or is their fate explained in one of the books? Okay, technically, that is two questions. Thank you in advance for your answer. Best Regards, Debra
