Dear Mr. Cornwell, Congratulations on the OBE. You are my favourite author so I thought it well deserved. As a regular visitor to your excellent site I found myself looking at some older letters. I noticed one in which you stated you “hated” the Victorian era and had no interest in writing about it. This surprised me. I had previously noted you commented on not being very interested in……say, the Crusades. But here you were very firm about your feelings. I wondered why, if it is not a rude question. I am just curious as I think the Victorian era offers a lot of scope, the Crimea, Indian Mutiny etc. George MacDonald Fraser certainly made the best of it! His Flashman books are also among my favourites. Thanks for all your books, I have read them all. Rgds Robert Marsh
