Sir, for some reason – not dissimilar in the way that the death of Sherlock Holmes affected readers, I found that the death of Dan Hagman in Sharpe’s Waterloo had an affect on me (odd!). I don’t suppose that he might be resurrected in any later period books that you might write about Sharpe? I have just managed to obtain a copy of Sharpe’s Christmas: short, but an excellent read. Keep on writing about Richard Sharpe. Many thanks. Martyn J. Wheeldon
