Dear Bernard First of all you are right about Jonathon Sumption’s work on the Hundered years war – really good – btw are you the Bernard he dedicates trial by Fire to??? btw I do not know if you have read them but I can recommend Alfred Burne’s duology The Crecy War and Agincourt War on the Hundered years war. Second on your post dated 14th November you mention only one more book on the hundered years would that be Agincourt????? And have you ever been tempted to go beyond that to fight Joan of Arc or too the very end of the war at the battle of Castille and telling of the final years from the British perspective. I mean if Hannibal and Napoleon had Cannae and Austerlitz they still had Zama and Waterloo to look foward too. Finally Even though he was only in the book for a few pages Thomas father came across as a really interesting character and have you ever been tempted to write a prequel book on how he ended up in Hookton???? P.S Who do you think was the better general Edward 1st or Wellington and Ever given any thought on any of his campaigns,he was kind of given a hatchet job in Braveheart. Anyway regards Geraint
