Hi Bernard, it’s nice to see that you appreciate your legions of fans and take the time to answer their questions, so now it’s my turn to pester you with a few questions :) 1. Which of your books are you most proud of? 2. Have you ever thought about updating this web site with a forum section, so your fans can discuss your works amongst ourselves? 3. Ever been attracted by the prospect of writing about The Border Reivers? a nice brutal episode of British history, although probably not widely known about outside of Northumbria and Scotland. 4. If a film was ever made of The Winter King (here’s hoping) who would you like to see play the role of Derfel? Ok, thanks for your time and thanks for the many wonderful books you’ve enriched our lives with, my whole circle of friends are all massive fans, one of whom has just named his baby son Jack Derfel Robinson (he wanted Derfel as the baby’s first name but his wife said no chance). Oh… One last question (sorry) Although your Arthurian trilogy is finished and to me it ended perfectly, to do another Derfel book would maybe tarnish the quality of what’s come before, but the period (being the dark ages) gives you pretty much a free rein…….. so would you ever consider maybe writing more about the Saxon incursion, but maybe from the Saxon point of view, it would definately be interesting and as history knows, the Saxons won out in the end… or we’d all be speaking Welsh, heaven forbid ;).
