I am reading the Sharpe series for the first time. What a great read! So far my favorite has be Sharpes Escape. Read it then reread it. My question have you considered writing about the period betwenn Sharpe’s Trafalger and Sharpe’s Prey? I went from one to the other thinking that “Now I would find out how he joined the rifles” instead I was rocketed off to Copenhagn. What happen when he joined? What got him stuck as a QuarterMaster? What happened as he tried to entry country society? You left a lot of tantalizing crumbs in Prey that sketches out what happened but I can see that period giving more insight into his character etc. In other questions I have seen your answer as “never say never” I hope you will say the same to this one.
