SIR, congratulations on ESCAPE, another tour de force. am looking forward to Last Kingdom, Oooh ninth century, king alfred, could this be another series? I hope so I love the period. I’ve just read in the press touting another tv outing for Sharpe, in India. ANY TRUTH??? If so I do hope the TV people don’t make Hakeswill a figure of comedy and derision. HAKESWILL is the most chillingly evil character you have given life to. I have no doubt that such people as he actually lived, and your characterisation of him was brilliant.
