Mr. Cornwell, First it is marvellous that you take the time to correspond with your fans. One of the great memories of my life was when on my first trip to the UK, on a cold and foggy spring morning, I first saw Bamburgh Castle rising up on its perch. What a wonderful site and location. I have to admit to reading all of your books and owning DVD’s of all the Sharpe series. They certainly were fortunate in their casting from Sean Bean, to Pete Postlethwaite and even a young Daniel Craig. I have to state that you are my favourite, living author of fiction. Although you are not quite perfect, for my money Starbuck is nowhere near as interesting as Lassan and his chronicles are your weakest series. So purely for selfish reasons, I implore you. Please complete Uhtred’s saga before you write any other books. Of all your characters Uhtred is the most fascinating. Sharpe is still the original but his backstory is not as complex, nor is he as self-aware as Uhtred. Thank you for many hours of enjoyment and I hope that you are able to bring us many more.
