Hi- I’ve been listening to the Saxon Stories on audio CD (I have a very long commute) and I’ve been enjoying them immensely. Of course, as I listen and hear the bits of historical arcania that are thrown in to real give the texture to the entire time period in which you’re writing, invariably I wonder sometimes “is that really what they did, or is just a guess?”. One of these happens to be the shining and polishing of mail with sand and vinegar. Then I happen upon a story on Yahoo about all the uses for vinegar, including cleaning metal. The link is here: http://shine.yahoo.com/green/20-unusual-uses-for-vinegar-2588664.html. (Note numbers 12 and 17.) I found it interesting, and though you might as well, especially given the fact that you’ve used vinegar as an occasional prop in the stories. Thanks again for the great stories.

Scott
