Dear Bernard, Your saxon books have opened my mind, not only for the historical content, but the way they evoke the time, way of life and history of my home county.I have absolutely loved reading the first 3 Uhtred novels and cant get through the pages fast enough to discover where and when the next event will occur.Thank you.I must explain further why.firstly I am a northumbrian, born and raised, and grew up in Hebburn, next town to Gyrrum/Jarrow.I have visited many many times Bedes world , a superb and quaint look at the venerable Bede, cuthbert and the saxon lifestyle, I was in fact there with my Norwegian wife and son only on Sunday..visiting the north east… Now; I am a geordie but the crux is this; I have for past 12 years lived in Oslo, Norway, so the whole saxon Dane/Norsemenn thread is so much more appealing and I can literally breath those times from your pages, they are written so well.Your research is second to none, your writing style a joy and your historical background very exact. So again, thank you for these works of art Bernard.Totally in debted to you sir. Looking forward to the next 3 books..of which I must read in order..!:) My best regards and best wishes Derek Barkas
