Its your “fan from Norway” again. I’ve now finished the Sharpe Series, including “Sharpe’s Story”. I wrote previously that I hoped that you had a “happy ending” for Sharpe – and you write that you assume that they live happily ever after. I will come back to that. I have watched the two TV-films that were made after the book series finished – “Sharpe’s Challenge” and “Sharpe’s Peril” – whereas they were excellent films, I rather felt that the book series had reached a natural conclusion – and that Sharpe was finished with the army – so it seemed a bit unnatural to drag him out again. What would wrap it up nicely for me, is one last book about Sharpe and Lucille on the farm. At the same time I would really like “Sweet William” to have a happy ending with a “good wife”. If that were not enough, I would like to see Sharpe, Lucille, Patrick, Ramona, Sweet William and wife, all together. You write that you don’t want suggestions due to copyright – so I will make this as vague as possible: Patrick and Ramona visit Sharpe and Lucille – “something” happens and they need protection. They get a message to Sweet William in Canada who comes with his company to rescue them. Sweet William in the course of this finds the love of his life, and it all ends with them all living on the farm in Normandy. I could then sleep easy at night, knowing that they were all well. (Especially sweet William!) Thank you for your patience !
