Dear Mr. Cornwell, I listened to your audio book “The Fort” while traveling to my job (about a 45-minute trip each way. The background context was President Obama working with the two leaders of Congress to find a compromise and hold off a shutdown of the Federal Government. I could not help but think that ‘the more things change, the more they stay the same’. The tighter each party involved maintained their own interests and continued to stall, the more surely the “Rebels” brought on their own downfall and common disaster. Perhaps you should donate copies of your book to President Obama, Harry Reid and John Boehner for reference. It makes me sad that in more than two hundred years we have not learned anything.
