Dear Mr. Cornwell, I’m 55 and have been an avid reader all my life. I suppose I’ve read several thousand books over the years. Yet I’ve never — until now — written a fan letter. I only recently discovered you after a friend recommended the Saxon stories. I read those consecutively in about a week, and then started on the Arthur books. Still have Excalibur left. You do tell a fine and splendid tale, peopled by quite memorable characters. Uhtred, Alfred, Derfel, Nimue, all the rest; they stick in my mind like one-time acquaintances. Looking forward to reading many more of yours.
