I was also a war baby born in London in 1942. My father was in the RAF. I now live in San Diego. My one Uncle who lives in Herne Bay, and his brother who lives in Canada, are avid fans of yours and have read all your books. I drive 60 miles per day to work and have little spare time to read so I listen to books on tape. I recently discovered your series at our library. I have listened to all the Saxon series (unfortunately I listened to them out of order), and I have listened to 2 of the Grail quest, and also several of the Sharpe books. The Saxon series have been my favorites but I must say that my favorite “lone” novel has been Agincourt. Wiah you could write more about that or something similar. I am enjoying the Sharpe books and thankfully still have several to listen to. I read the Winter King several years ago when my uncle brought it with him when he came to visit us and left it for me to read. I am now looking to find the series on CD at our libraries. I find that you have accomplished your goal with me….you have piqued my interest in the history behind your stories. I often go on the internet to research and read up on the background. I am currently listening to THe FOrt. I have not found this to be as interesting as the other books but maybe I will as I get further into the story. I hope you will keep writing and I hope you don’t retire until you are a 100. I will be 102 at that time and will probably not be around so you have my permission to retire!! Thanks again for your wonderful books. They make my drives into ones that I wish would go on a little longer so I can listen a little longer. Your admirer, Jean Fields
