Mr. Cornwell, As an avid reader of your books, I thoroughly enjoyed the “Fort”. Your information regarding Paul Revere was both a surprise and a disappointment. I must number myself amongst those Americans who had a much higher opinion of him. It is interesting that you correctly point out how “politics” was a prime ingredient in the Revolutionary War effort in the former colonies. That and the continual striving of individuals to to allow their pride, prejudice and egotism to cloud their thoughts and their eventual actions. As a retired Marine, I am delighted with your favorable comments and consideration of the efforts of the Continental Marines. Also, it was gratifying to identify a character, Sir John Moore, from the “Sharpe” era. I must find some of the books you cite regarding him and read more about him. Thanks again for many hours of enjoyable reading and I look forward to future books from you and your efforts.
