Sir, I just wanted to send my regards and my appreciation for The Fort. I grew up in Maine, spending most of youth along the Kennebec River between Waterville and Popham, but have spent most of my adult years away, much of that as a soldier. This is a piece of history I knew little about. It’s always wise to remember that every conflict has (at least) two sides, and this book showed that wonderfully. I wish you great success with it, and you can be sure that I recommend it to those in my small circle of friends.
