Mr. Cornwell,
Six years ago, while wandering the aisles of a local Barnes & Noble and waiting on a friend, I picked up The Archer’s Tale at random. Having never heard of historical fiction, I read the first five pages and made an impulse buy. I’d like to tell you I’ve never made a better choice of literature (or better impulse buy!) than purchasing your book. I’ve read most all of your work now, as well as a few other historical novelists. However, your style, attention to detail, and brilliant character development keep you at the very top of my list.
I give you my sincerest thanks for the years of enjoyment you’ve provided not only me but also a few friends to whom I’ve suggested your work.
I hope to meet you at some point, and I look forward to seeing the world through the eyes of the character you create next!
