Devoured “Waterloo” over two return train trips to London. As you rightly quote the Duke of Wellington in saying it’s impossible to tell the story of a battle but you’ve achieved a jolly good try. Not only did you weave together the various elements to present the different scenes of conflict but you gave very helpful evaluations of the different evidence and accounts. I visited the battle site with my parents when my father was very cross (and said so!) about the number of busts of Napolean vs the Duke of Wellington but we managed to find one! Thanks for bringing everything to such vivid life (and death). Looking forward to more non-fiction as well as all the glorious fiction! Have a great trip to the UK. Susanne
