Auto Draft

Dear Mr. Cornwell

I only discovered today, that you have made a new book about Uthred of Bebbanburg.

That is truly wonderful news, as I have great difficulties rationing your books, meaning that I have read nothing new from you since this winter. The last book had this part, where Uthred nearly got in through the gates, but was discovered by the dogs. I could hardly breath during this part. Anyway, as we go to London in december, I will sack a Waterstone for “The Empty Throne!”

And: On the very tip of the small peninsula of Asnaes, a RAF Lancaster named Mad Money was shot down by German AA guns on their way to Norway in the end of 1944.

It landed – more or less – and the American crew was relatively unharmed – but the site was not escavated until this august, where my son was a part of the team.

As the Germans were desperately short of aluminium, most of the plane had been ripped, but there was still lots of interesting things to find.

Many kind regards

Preben

PS: Did you notice, that I did NOT plague you for a new Starbuck?
