Hi again, Mr. Cornwell. Why, in your opinion did the longbow fall out of use? Was it the invention of the musket? That doesn’t make sense to me. Anyone could see that its rate of fire made it a far superior weapon, and the English army would be well served by keeping a force trained in its use. It would have been devastating in the English Civil War. In fact, you could argue that it was the most lethal infantry-held weapon ever made until the invention of the repeating rifle during the American War Between the States!
