Hi Mr. Cornwell.
I’m 75 years old and still working a full week. I read about 65+ books a year, thanks to my father who instilled a love of reading in me.
I have read almost all your books. Just finishing Waterloo, and have The Empty Throne on deck.
All I can say is; thanks for the hours of pleasure you have given me.
Quick note Waterloo, page 300 “Colborne had gained every step by merit”. I immediately though “Sharpe”…and a few pages later reading of Colborne’s efforts and having just watched “Sharpe’s Waterloo” for the 4th time, I convinced myself of this. :-)
One last remark. If you’re looking for an excellent read, try Gettysburg-The Last Invasion. I’ve read a number of books on the battle. This one is the definitive writing.
Cheers,
Tom
