Hi Bernard,
I’m currently reading your book Waterloo, and what an excellent read it is, however, I have found a mistake! On page 162 you mention Lt Col Francis Home of the Third Guards, the Royal Scots. These are, in fact, two separate regiments. The Third Guards were later renamed the Scots Fusilier Guards, and then the Scots Guards. The Royal Scots are (were) the oldest regiment in the British Army, their official title was The Royal Scots (The Royal Regiment). As such, they were the 1st of Foot. A minor point, I know, but one I thought worth pointing out.
