Just wanted to thank you for so many superb books. On a completely bizarre note, I was researching my family tree and it turns out that my 5xGt Grandfather frequented the famed Crown and Anchor tavern in the Strand around the turn of the 19th century. In a history of St Clement Danes parish in the Strand I came across a reference to a Richard Sharpe “Partner in a west India House”, rather remarkably on the opposite page was the next chapter entitled “48th Middlesex Rifle Volunteers”. I thought it would give you a chuckle!
