Mr. Cornwell –
After many years of being an avid reader, this is the first time I have felt compelled to drop a note to an author to express my appreciation of his work. After devouring “The Empty Throne,” I realized I was long overdue. I bought this book knowing I would not be disappointed and that is not something I can say about many of the other authors I read regularly. I thoroughly enjoyed the further tales of Uhtred and I thought the addition of his daughter to the mix was a particularly nice touch. I generally don’t read long series over again, but I have done so with the Sharpe tales and Patrick O’Brien’s Aubrey/Maturin books with real pleasure and I look forward to re-visiting the Saxon tales down the road. Thanks, again, for hours of enjoyment and the very palatable history lessons.
