I´m celebrating the anniversary of Waterloo by writing to you to thank you for your SUPERB books. I´ve read all the Sharpe books numerous times – no one (& that includes Weller, Longford, Oman, Holmes…) brings so much life to the Peninsular war or the campaigns in India. And now – even without the help of your vivid fictional characters you´ve given us THE definitive book on Waterloo! Such clarity! Such wonderful excerpts from letters & memoires! Thank you!
My eldest daughter wants me to thank you for the countless delightful hours you´ve given her with your Saxon tales – and we both LOVE your Agincourt, too – though maybe I should have waited till October of this year to thank you for it!
