Dear Mr Cornwell, I’m a little under two-thirds of my way through the Sharpe novels – interspersing two Sharpe’s with two Aubrey/Maturins at a time… delicious!. Hunting through reviews I can’t find one which deals specifically with Sharpe joining the Rifles and moving up from Ensign (nor, though much less important, the actual gifting to him of the ubiquitous telescope). Is there such a one (or other)? Thank you for your time, and thank you far, far more for your work!
