Mr. Cornwell,
I am a huge fan of your books and writing. It has inspired me to become more involved in history, a subject I believe isn’t brought up to enough attention, especially here in the United States. My favorite series is the Starbuck series. It reminds me of Sharpe, but without a lot of the laws and rules that Sharpe follows. Anyways, my question to you today has to do with cats. I’ve noticed in a lot of Sharpe books, at one point a cat comes to him and he pets it. Is there any significance to this? I was thinking it had something to do with where his mother was from, “Cat Lane”. However, it could just be you like cats.
