Hi Bernard
I’ve really enjoyed the Grail series and after a slower start the Nate Starbuck novels.
If there is a criticism about the Grail novels, it’s all the rape. You really evoke the sense of violence in battle and I admire very much the accurate historical context.
For me, Nate Starbuck is unfinished. His personal life needs resolution: his relationship with Julia and his father as well as his struggle with Christian faith in the face of the butchery and heroism of war all are strong themes. There is also dealing with General Faulconer, Billy Tumlin and the unmasking of Delaney to be achieved.
I appreciate that Sharpe is your key character and concentration but I’d strongly urge you to write the closing Starbuck book.
Thanks for reading this and for the pleasure of your books.
Kind Regards
Martin
