Dear Mr. Cornwell
We met some years ago in Los Angeles. I hope to see you again. I just started 1356 this morning and am already more than halfway through. I think I have a better knowledge of British history than most of my fellow Americans. Most of it comes from you and George McDonald Fraser. Both of you have entertained me no end, but more than that reading your works has encouraged me to learn more. A priest once told me that when you read the Old Testament, to put flesh and blood on the people. This you have done with history and for my money it is the best way to teach. I just want to let you know how much you are appreciated in this home.
Best always,
Jim Calvagna
