On page 142 (UK Edition) you have Richard read a piece of the Bible – Leviticus, 18:22 to be precise. “Thou shalt not lie with mankind, as with womankind: it is abomination”
However, that is the KJV version of the verse which, of course, came later than the date, 1595, when the book is set. Surely an earlier version, perhaps Tyndale/Coverdale, or more probably, the Bishop’s Bible, would have been used ?
The Bishop’s Bible (1568) has the same verse as “Thou shalt not lye with mankynde as with womankynde, for it is abhomination”
