Mr Cornwell,
I have never written to an author, artist, actor or anyone else of any ‘fame’, though there are many authors whose work I have enjoyed and followed over the decades. I am writing now because I have just finished another wonderful novel, The Flame Bearer, and feel compelled to thank you for all of the hours of enjoyment your writing has given me. A bad day can be turned around in a heartbeat by immersing myself in one of your many great books; a good day can be made even better by simply turning a page and escaping into one of the many stories you have crafted. So, thank you so much for all of the great reading, the opportunities to escape to another time and place and the sneaky history lessons that engage and entertain me. Live a long time Mr Cornwell, a lot of us need you on our bookshelves.
