Now I am 60 just like Uhtred. I just finished War of the Wolf, which I always read in English, though I am Flemish. Uhtred is one of the stars in my life. I am a woman, but no not that thing…, it is his soul, his compassion, his courage, his honesty. I think he is a great part of you. :) You must love history, I studied history and I love your “sight” of this past.
My eldest son (38) is reading all your books too and one day my others sons will, so I hope.
English seems to be the language of the next generations. But I love those Saxon and Norse or Danish words/culture very much too.
It must have been a hell of a time to live in. But I must admit that I often lay awake with bad dreams of the warlords of this time. Presidents. “King Alfred” and priests.Too religious people I just love you for making my life happier with your stories. Thanks a thousand times.
