I studied Classics in university and am a lover of history and knowledge. I am an American (not the xenophobic kind) and after reading Churchill’s History of the English Speaking Peoples and becoming more aware of the great debt the world owes to the United Kingdom, I started to read more about British history. I grew to love historical fiction after watching the television series based on your Sharpe novels years ago, and I recently was delighted to discover The Last Kingdom television series! I was astonished to find out that you, sir, are responsible for the creation of both series which I have hugely enjoyed, given the huge chronological difference between the two. I would just like to add my congratulations and kudos to the litany of praise that you rightly deserve. I plan to purchase the Last Kingdom books as a Christmas present to myself as I am sure they will be even better than the show!
