Dear Mr. Cornwell,
I have thoroughly enjoyed reading many of your books over the years. More recently, I have read the “Last Kingdom” series. It was a pleasure doing so. Today, I finished “Excalibur.” Of all your series, I have enjoyed your take on the Arthurian myths the most. In a way, I hesitated to finish the book, as I felt like I was saying goodbye to old friends. I actually had tears in my eyes when I closed the book, and I will miss Derfel and Arthur. What an accomplishment those books were – your re-creation of the lost world of early post-Roman Britain was magical.
Thank you for the many, many hours of reading pleasure you have given me. Words are a gift to the world, and you are a master wordsmith.
