I’ve just made it to the end of the author’s note in The Flame Bearer and have seen, with relief, that Uhtred will march again; thanks be to Odin and Thor. I read a lot of Anglo-Saxon and medieval stuff — fiction and non; I majored in medieval English history at Princeton about 1000 years ago (where I was beyond fortunate to have guidance from Lawrence Stone, William Jordan and Robert Fagles), and it remains my passion. We have all your volumes, in hard cover of course. In fact, they stare down at me in my home office; I have just realized they are on a shelf next to several bottles of whiskey made by Constantin’s people, but I do not think Uhtred would mind. Please keep doing what you are doing.
