I wish you a merry Christmas and Happy New year. If you are looking for a book to read over Christmas then you can’t go wrong with October Triumph by James Arnold. I received it only a few days ago and couldn’t put it down and I think you’d like it too.
Anyway I wondered after your next Sharpe whether you’d ever consider telling Frederickson’s story in Canada during the War of 1812. As someone whose Half Canadian and married to an American you would seem ideally placed to write about one of the battles of the War of 1812. Please don’t ignore it. It was a tough bloody war and it seems a shame for all the soldiers on all sides if it was forgotten. Besides which it says in Sharpe Waterloo that Fredrickson ended up there. It would be a shame to leave his open story dangling. Even talking about just 1 battle would be great. Now I know me saying this means you might not but I can assure you categorically I would never claim that I got you to do it if you decided to. I merely asked you to consider it not to actually do it. From a legal perspective that’s a significant difference
