In 1995 I was getting on a plane in London to come back to my home in Virginia, USA from a vacation in England. I was a typical bored teenager until I saw “The Winter King” on a rack there. Truth be known I just thought it was cool at first to see my last name on a book. My father, who is also a great reader of history, told me that he would buy me the book if I shut up on the flight home, all 6 hours of it. Little did he know that buying me that one book ignited a love of both reading and history that has served me well for many years. I still have all of the Arthur Books in print but as you can imagine The Winter King is looking a bit rough so I also have the books on Kindle.
I just wanted to thank you for your amazing works. They have been my best friends over these years and have kept me company both when I was deployed with the military and the long hours working shift work as a police officer.
Now, I’m going back to reading Enemy of God.
Thank you,
Amanda Cornwell
