Hi Mr. Cornwell,
I have been an avid reader of yours for the larger part of what now feels to be over a decade. I first came across the Last Kingom book series in an airport book store when I was doing a lot of overseas travelling. I was a budding amateur part-time historian at the time, largely with great interests in Roman history and learning about the lives of the Emperors.
Since I first picked up your book, Death of Kings, I remember being absolutely enthralled with the story, that I could not put the book down. I could not remember a time where I was so enthused by reading (I was reading a lot of technical manuals at the time which is a very tough, dry read on the best of days.)
Since that time, I have gone on to purchase almost every one of your books, and remember looking forwards to the next as soon as I put down the first! But these books also helped to expand my views and spur a much deeper interest in history, specifically about the formation of England, and most of continental Europe and the political/military movements from the time.
In short, I simply wanted to write to say thank you for efforts! Your books have had such a great impact on my intestests. I was sorry to see the Last Kingdom end, both in the books and on Netflix. I look forward to discovering more new stories and series in the future.
WIth regards,
