Hello Mr Cornwell,
I have a great interest in the development of the USA since the days of the first settlers and an especial interest in the Civil War. I have read many accounts (and visited the sites) of Antietam but your ‘novel’, for me, has put flesh and blood and life into the characters (real or imaginary). It provides what no historical account to date has managed – real feelings. Many thanks indeed.
