Dear Mr Bernard Cornwell,
I just wanted to say how much I love your writing.
My dad was called Bernard ( which makes me love you a bit more) and he was obsessed with history. In his case the Celts. He hated the Romans and loved stone circles. We scattered him at the Ring of Brodgar.
I came to your Saxon Stories through the wonderful Last Kingdom and then devoured the 13 books and am the Arthur trilogy now.
You have a delicious style that is so engaging: I love the first person narrative.
Anyway, you’re a shining jewel in a word where jewels need to be sought and treasured.
With best wishes
Una Fairbrother
