Just wanted to thank you for providing me so many hours of reading enjoyment. I picked up my first Sharpe book on a trip to England in the 1980s and have been hooked ever since. As a military historian by training, while I can’t say I am a big fan of historical fiction in general, I appreciate the fact that at the end of your books you put the real history in perspective. That said, I am enjoying the Saxon series, since, through no fault or effort of my own, it turns out that Grandpa Alfred is my 33rd Great Grandfather, and William I is my 26th Great Grandfather (can’t understand why I never get invited to stay at the Royal residence, although I suppose the Tower would be open to me of they could catch me!). The novels give me an overall perspective of the life in the era and help put my myriad of good, and not-so-good relatives in perspective. Thanks again. Looking forward to the new Sharpe book.
