I am usually not a big reader and have never really been one, but the Saxon stories managed to make me love reading, and I really feel like travelling while reading your books. Uhtred’s adventures are amazing, and I really feel similar with him on many points. I watched the series on Netflix, and it is actually my favorite TV show of all time, but I also like a lot discovering where things are originally from and that’s why I bought 10 of your books at once ! It is very nice to discover in the books some details that sometimes aren’t in the tv show.
I read the first 2, and can’t wait to read more.
I was already very much into English and Scandinavian history and to be honest, your books and stories inspired me to move abroad, in Finland nowadays and most probably in England in few years. It is also funny to see that our 2 countries England and France have been fighting for centuries, and yet an English writer inspired a young French reader. I love England, its culture and history, and my mother always felt that for England as well and still nowadays. She always loved the United Kingdom and its history and she still wants to move there !
I plan to visit York and Bamburgh because obviously, the books and Tv show woke my curiosity up, and I want to know more about the history of these 2 places.
