Mr Cornwell,

I was 17 years old when I picked up a book called Sharpe’s Eagle in a bookstore where I worked.  I just turned 59 years old and I have read every word you have published.  Many of them multiple times.  You are my favorite writer and I eagerly look forward to new books.  Be it Sharpe (my sentimental favorite), Uhtred, Thomas or Starbuck, I find myself going along with all of their journeys.  Throughout my life you provided me with escape when many times I had none.  I find that people are many times remiss in telling the people who made a difference in their lives, thank you.  So Mr. Cornwell, it is my desire to tell you thank you.  You have been one of the many people who have made me smile, laugh, cheer, and love to read.  I am sorry to hear of the health issues.  As the owner of a medical company I see too much of them.  I wish you the very best.  My sincerest appreciation, Your Fan,

Patrick Doyle
