I have just finished reading the superb collection of Sharpe’s adventures. I’m now feeling somewhat empty as I’ve travelled with him, and Patrick Harper from India and Europe and the final ‘Jolly’ to Chile and I’m left with some marvelous memories.
I’ve never before been so wrapped up in a book as I have been over the last few months. Through your superb writing I’ve lived those adventures and smelt the powder fumes, heard the cannons, rifles, muskets and lived alongside them.
I first bought the DVD set before I set about reading the books and have not regretted one minute of time wrapped in them. As a result I’ve also bought several John Tams CDs so that i can still travel over the hills and far away.
Many many thanks for such a wonderful adventure.
