Hello Sir
I have just Finished “The Pagan Lord” whilst on Holiday in Turkey…. I reflected and got quite emotional (not something I succumb to much) on how long I have been reading your books and enjoying them, I read Sharps Eagle in 1984 I think, It was my second year in the British Army (Royal Engineers, Hogan was a Favourite of mine), Anyway I followed Sharp all through his journey I read Sharp in Northern Ireland on the Border, I also read Sharp in the first Gulf War in the desert, Thomas of Hookton and Uhtred and all the others I have enjoyed since I left the Army, All the books I bought and I will hope you will forgive me but I passed them all onto my father who also read and enjoyed them all (I passed “The Pagan Lord” on to him at Sunday just gone roast dinner).
I do think “The Fort” was a really great book and would make a great film but I think the American side of the story would be edited beyond recognition, Azincourt I enjoyed greatly but I see it as a Thomas of Hookton story (It just fits him even if the chronology does not)
You also awoke me to Thomas Cochrane who is now one of my hero,s lol, I went as far as to going to Westminster Cathedral to see the grave Slab, Also as I live close to Dundonald Castle I feel a connection  (even if that is only in my head) I read “Cochrane: The Story of Britannia’s Sea Wolf” by Donald Thomas, after Sharps encounter with him,
Anyway sorry to burden you with my reflections, I just felt I needed to show my appreciation of your writings.
I hope Uthred and Thomas ride again, And look forward to any new projects you have in the Pipe line, If you do not manage to produce any more I will cry in to my beer but could not hold it against you as you have already given me so much.

Many Thanks
David Adrain
