Dear Mr Cornwell
I may be one of the few of your devoted readers who did not discover you through Sharpe. Many years ago my sister bought me the first volume of the magnificent Arthur trilogy – and I was hooked. Why no-one has made a faithful film of your wonderful interpretation of the legend, I do not know. If I were a film producer I would make it my mission.
I won’t bore you with further praise. I’ve read pretty much everything you’ve written by now and love it all and this is NOT an idea for a book… My favourite English fable is Robin Hood. I grew up with it, I still love it and in my opinion, no-one has yet written the definitive contemporary interpretation. If only I could think of the ideal person to do it I would beg him to give it a go!
Please keep writing and thank you for providing me with so many happy hours of reading and listening.
Kind Regards
David Whitaker.
