Another indispensable book. This one looks at the world of the redcoat in the two centuries during which he carried the Brown Bess. This is much more than a book about the army that fought Napoleon; it encompasses most of the Victorian compaigns and harks back to the wars of the early eighteenth century. A truly terrific book, highly recommended.
